COPPA Compliance
Last updated: February 8, 2026
What is COPPA?
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is a U.S. federal law that imposes requirements on operators of websites directed to children under 13, or that knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. COPPA requires operators to provide parents with direct notice and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children.
Our Commitment
WorldFactDB is designed to be a safe, educational resource for students of all ages, including children under 13. We are fully committed to COPPA compliance through a simple principle: we do not collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age.
Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing to disclose, no consent to obtain, and no risk to children's privacy on this site.
What We Do Not Collect
- No names, email addresses, or contact information
- No account registration or user profiles
- No cookies or persistent tracking identifiers
- No IP addresses stored or logged
- No behavioral tracking or advertising profiles
- No payment or billing information
- No geolocation data
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and is fully GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA compliant. Vercel Analytics counts aggregate page views only — no individual users are tracked or identifiable.
Safe for Classroom Use
WorldFactDB is designed with classrooms in mind:
- No account creation required — students can use the site anonymously
- No advertisements or ad tracking
- No social media integrations that could collect student data
- Content sourced from authoritative international organizations (World Bank, UN, WHO)
- No external scripts that could compromise privacy
